  • Before starting therapy with Brittanee, I felt very overwhelmed. My anxiety was extremely uncontrolled. I have experienced how to control my anxiety and if I ever do feel it coming or have a sensation in my body , I talk to myself, letting myself know everything will be okay. I also do breathing meditation. Just alone talking with brittanee, my life has been at peace. It has impacted me for 8 months and it has kept me calm in certain situations and not have bad anxiety .   • Before starting therapy with Brittanee, I felt extremely stressed and overwhelmed with life because I was doing so much for others and neglecting myself. I focused so much on the future that I would stress about things that haven’t even occurred. I was struggling with setting boundaries and living in the present. Since working with Brittanee I have been able to learn mechanisms to manage stress and to stay present in the moment. Throughout 2023, I have had to deal with grief and working with Brittanee helped me to feel those emotions and to allow myself to feel my emotions.   • When I first started my sessions with Brittanee, I was experiencing anxiety, elevated levels of sadness, and suffering from daily disrupted life with secondary PTSD. Through my sessions with Brittanee, my moods have never been more stable, and the days where I feel sad/down are very rare.   • Before I started therapy; I was all over the place. I was grieving and depressed. As long as I was keeping busy I could keep all my feelings at bay. Since starting therapy with Brittanee; I'm learning that I don't have to keep this image of being a strong, black, woman. I can lay some of this burden down and it's okay. Everything will still go on. Therapy helps me clear my mind and focus on mental health.   • Before therapy I felt very angry and impatient. I felt like I really did not have control over basic things a person should have control over. Self control was something I felt like I lacked and needed to work on. I am enjoying life a little more and taking small steps. Sometimes life can be very overwhelming and Brittanee has given me tools to take steps to manage daily stressors. I am working on having more control of my emotions and learning what is in my control vs what is not. Also working and noting things that "trigger" my anger. I am taking things one day at a time which minimizes my stress level which has a domino effect on my irritability level as well. Having a place to also "brain dump" and put all your thoughts and feelings in one place also helps my mental clutter which brings a fresh mind and positive energy to my weeks ahead.
